TAS-SSAについて詳しく解説(前編:仕様やコンセプト)

先日お問い合わせにてTAS-SSAについて質問がありました。
その話の中で『もっと詳しい情報が欲しい』との声がありましたので今回詳しく解説させていただきます。
こちらのTAS-SSAは俗にいう独立型トーンアームスタンドとなります。
通常トーンアームはレコードプレーヤーのプレーヤーボードにアーム用テンプレートを用いてベース穴をあけて設置します。その為
①最初から自社のトーンアームが取り付けられているレコードプレーヤーが多いです。また
②トーンアームは付属していなく、最初からベース穴が開いてまして、
そこに使用したいトーンアームの交換用アームベースを用いて設置するパターンもあります。さらには
③ターンテーブルとジョイントするアタッチメントを用いて適切な距離にセットするタイプもございます。
①の場合はトーンアームを交換する事が考慮されていない為、
お客様が使用したいトーンアームを見つけた場合設置する方法がありません。
②の場合も通常トーンアーム一本設置が基本です。二本目を設置しようにもプレーヤーボードにスペースがありません。
③の場合はアタッチメントを追加購入すれば大丈夫なのですが、
使用したいトーンアーム用のアタッチメントがないと設置することが困難な場合があります。
(アタッチメント自体が可動式で適切な距離を取ることができるタイプなら問題ありません)
また、トーンアームは自社のカートリッジを最適に再生することを目標に製造されていることが多く、
相性という観点から複数台のトーンアームを所持しておられるお客様も少なくないと思います。
その場合設置するにも物理的な限界・・・通常レコードプレーヤーの右側に一本、上側に一本設置が限界でしょう。
上記の悩みを全て解決することが出来るのが今回解説しますTAS-SSAとなります!
TAS-SSAは独立型トーンアームスタンドなのでTAS-SSAにトーンアームを接続すれば、
あとはテンプレートを用いて360度好きな場所に設置することが出来ます。
(とはいえ通常のレコードプレーヤーの場合は長方形の為右下部はボードが邪魔してセッティングできないと思います)
レコードプレーヤーの『上』に置くのではなく、レコードプレーヤーの『外』に置くため、
テンプレートが届く範囲であれば好きな所に設置することができるのです。
それではここからはTAS-SSAの中身をより詳しく解説していきます。

During the conversation, I was asked if I wanted more detailed information, so I will explain it in detail today.
This TAS-SSA is what is commonly known as a stand-alone tonearm stand.
Normally, the tonearm is installed on the player board of the record player by drilling a base hole using an arm template. For this reason
①Many record players come with their own tonearm installed from the beginning.
②There are also patterns where the tonearm is not included, and the base hole is already drilled from the beginning,
and a replacement arm base for the tonearm you want to use is used to install it there.
③There are also types that use an attachment that connects to the turntable to set it at the appropriate distance.

In the case of ①, the replacement of the tone arm is not taken into consideration, so if the customer finds a tone arm they want to use, there is no way to install it.
In the case of ②, it is usually basic to install one tone arm. Even if you want to install a second one, there is no space on the player board.
In the case of ③, it is okay to purchase an additional attachment, but it may be difficult to install if you do not have an attachment for the tone arm you want to use.
(There is no problem if the attachment itself is movable and can be kept at an appropriate distance.)
Also, tone arms are often manufactured with the goal of optimally playing the company's own cartridges, and I think there are many customers who own multiple tone arms from the perspective of compatibility.
In that case, there are physical limitations to installation... Usually, the limit is one to the right of the record player and one on the upper side.
In the case of ②, it is usually basic to install one tone arm. Even if you want to install a second one, there is no space on the player board.
In the case of ③, it is okay to purchase an additional attachment, but it may be difficult to install if you do not have an attachment for the tone arm you want to use.
(There is no problem if the attachment itself is movable and can be kept at an appropriate distance.)

Now, let's take a more detailed look at what's inside the TAS-SSA.

TAS-SSAは3つのパーツで作られております。
・一番上のアームを取り付ける径が開いているのがベースプレート
こちらの材質はステンレス鋼でできております。錆びづらく剛性も高い。そして磁力を帯びないのが特徴です。
穴径は31φと41φが選べますので、
お客様がお使いになるアームベースが通常の回転台なら31φ。
IT-VTA-06をお使いになるのであれば41φを選択していただければと思います。
IKEDA Sound Labs.のトーンアームは
回転台にせよIT-VTA-06にせよ下から大きなナットで締め上げて固定しますので
柔い素材ですと支える地盤が揺らぐ可能性がございますが
ベースプレートは前述のとおりステンレス鋼で製造されていますので
高い剛性により安心して締め上げる事ができます。
・真ん中の黒い部分がベース本体
こちらは上下部とは異なりましてアルミニウム合金で製造されております。
ここもステンレス鋼にすれば統一されていいのではないか?とお思いの方もいらっしゃると思いますが
主に2点のポイントがございます。
1つめは加工性に優れている事です。
というのもこのTAS-SSAは注文を受ける際に全長を80mm~103mmの間でオーダーしていただけます。
その場合どこで調整するかといいますと、こちらのベース本体を削って寸法を調整させていただきます。
一応初期設定の全長は決まっておりますが、完全フルオーダーになりますとこの部分を大きく縦に長く仕上げる事で
ある程度の範囲外もご注文受ける事ができるのです。
2つめは共振を抑える役割です。
同じ金属で一つのモノを作るとなると良くも悪くも共振が同じレベルで発生します。
機械的に異なる金属同士を組み合わせる事により、不要な共振の影響を抑える事ができます。
他にもアルミニウム合金はアルマイト処理が可能なので、ブラックに仕上げております。
アルマイト処理は耐食性を高めたり、表面硬度向上、絶縁など、
一番手が触れるところへの配慮がなされた設計になっております。
・一番下の上2つを支えて出力ケーブルが出てくるベース台座
こちらも上部と同じでステンレス鋼にて製造されております。
内径はケーブルがムリなく通る分だけ確保しておりますので密度も高く剛性を保っております。
重さは約3.15kg。数字で見るとそれほど重さを感じないかもしれませんが
実際に手にしますと数字以上の重さを感じる事ができ、
このズッシリした重さこそが独立型トーンアームベースの役割を完遂してくれることを証明してくれます。
長くなってしまいましたので、今回はこの辺で解説を終わりたいと思います。

This material is stainless steel. It is resistant to rust and has high rigidity. It is also characterized by not being magnetic.
The hole diameter can be chosen from 31φ and 41φ,
so if the arm base you are using is a normal turntable, choose 31φ.
If you are using IT-VTA-06, we recommend choosing 41φ.

This is made of aluminum alloy, unlike the upper and lower parts.
Some people may think that it would be better to unify this part by making it stainless steel, but

When placing an order for this TAS-SSA, you can order the total length between 80mm and 103mm.
In that case, we will adjust the dimensions by cutting this base body.
The initial total length is fixed, but if you make a full order, we can make this part larger and longer vertically to accommodate orders outside of that range to a certain extent.
The second role is to suppress resonance.
When making a single item out of the same metal, resonance will occur at the same level, for better or worse.
By combining metals that are mechanically different, it is possible to suppress the effects of unnecessary resonance.
In addition, aluminum alloy can be anodized, so we have finished it in black.
The anodizing process is designed to improve corrosion resistance, surface hardness, and insulation,
with consideration given to the areas that are most likely to come into contact with the hands.
This is made of aluminum alloy, unlike the upper and lower parts.
